MESA, Ariz. -- Led by Hugo Ronnberg, the Bellevue University men's golf team finished in the top 10 for the third-straight season at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship after moving up four spots to finish in sixth place at this year's championship.

The four-day, 72-hole tournament was played at the 7,004-yard, par-72 Las Sendas Golf Club. Bellevue finished third last season and seventh in 2021.

Ronnberg's second place finish is the best-ever by a Bruin golfer, eclipsing Davis Garner's fifth place result at the 2013 National Tournament. His final round 68 matched a BU National Tournament record for lowest the single-round score posted in the event with Garner (2013) and Jose Vega (2015) also doing so.

Ronnberg tied for first place in the individual standings with The Master's University's Easton Johnson at 8-under for the tournament. The duo had identical rounds each of the four days as each posted scores of 71, 70, 71, and 68 to force a playoff.

The Master's Easton Johnson won the two-hole playoff - both contested on the 18th hole.

The Bruins tied for the second-best round on the day with a 4-under team score of 284. Bellevue finished the tournament at 21-over par.

The University of British Columbia won the team title with a 72-hole team score of 5-over par. UBC was three strokes ahead of The Master's who was 4-under on the day and 8-over for the tournament.

Ronnberg's round was highlighted by six birdies. He recorded a 3-under 33 on the front nine.

Floris-Jan Oosterhof carded an even-par 72 in the final round. His round was sparked by an eagle on the par-5, 534-yard sixth hole. Oosterhof also had three birdies on the day and finished the tournament in a tie for 33rd place.

Rodrigo Navarrete finished with an even-par 72 after recording three birdies, three bogeys, and 12 pars in his round. He finished in a tie for 38th place.

Alex Zillig was the third Bruin to shoot an even-par 72 and finished the tournament at 14-over par and in a tie for 58th place. His round was highlighted by four birdies.

Hugo Brandt rounded out the day with a 4-over par 76. He had a birdie and 12 pars in the fourth round.
