Two in top 10 for Bruins at Roadrunner Classic

ROCKY FACE, Ga. -- Rodrigo Navarrete and Alex Zillig both sit in a tie for ninth place at 5-over and the No. 4-ranked Bellevue University men's golf team is fourth overall through 36 holes at the Roadrunner Classic, hosted by Dalton State University.

Being played at The Farm Golf Club, the tournament is taking place on the 7,035-yard, Par 72 course.

The No. 16-ranked College of Coastal Georgia (589, +13) holds a narrow one-stroke lead over second place and No. 1-ranked Keiser University (590, +14). No. 5 Dalton State (+22), Bellevue (+28), and No. 7 USC Beaufort (+32) round out the top five.

Kesier's Jakob Stavang Stubhaug sits atop the individual leaderboard at 3-under, one stroke ahead of Dalton State's Steve Kibare (-4). A trio of Coastal Georgia golfers – Thomas Henderson, Lee Smith, and Thacher Neal – are tied for third at 1-over apiece.

Navarrete and Zillig each posted matching first round scores of 2-over 74 before again leveling each other with 3-over 75 second rounds. Navarrete birdied 15 in each of his rounds on his way to five birdies on the day. Zillig also birdied 15 in each round and also finished with five birdies while notching an eagle on the par-4 seventh hole in round two.

Hugo Ronnberg carded matching rounds of 3-over 75 to find himself in a tie for 14th overall. Ronnberg eagled the 15th in the first round and birdied it in the second as he finished the day with five birdies.

Floris-Jan Oosterhof bettered his first round 80 (+8) with a second round 76 (+4) to rest in a tie for 36th. He birdied No. 15 in the first round and No. 7 in the second.

Baptiste Bonnet shot 11-over (83) in the first round before shaving six strokes for a second round 77 (+5). He is tied for 50th after birdieing four holes in the second round.

Totte Uhlan (+8) is tied for 23rd overall as an individual with a score of 152. Uhlan totaled four birdies on the day including No. 12 in each round.

Bellevue concludes play tomorrow with the third round of the Roadrunner Classic. It will be their last scheduled regular-season round before competing in the NSAA Championships.
