ONALASKA, Wis. -- Led by senior Andre Becerra, the Bellevue University men's golf team captured the 2021 North Star Athletic Association Tournament title, winning by 29 strokes over second-place Waldorf University. The tournament was played at the par-71, 6,751-yard Cedar Creek Golf Course.
The Bruins finished the tournament with a team score of 26-over par after shooting a 17-over 301 in Tuesday's final round. BU had four golfers in the top 10.
Beccera won the individual title and earned first-team all-conference honors for the third time in his career. He finished the tournament at 2-over par after Tuesday's round of 4-over 75.
Teammate Hugo Ronnberg finished second at 6-over par after shooting a 2-over 73.
Rodrigo Navarrete tied for fourth place at 9-over par. He shot a 9-over par 80 to go with Monday's round of even-par 71. He was also named the NSAA Golfer of the Year.
Floris-Jan Oosterhof finished in a tie for ninth place at 14-over par. He registered a 6-over 77 on Tuesday.
The Bruins will compete in the NAIA National Championship on May18-21. The 72-hole tournament will be played at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
