Bruins storm back to win WWU Spring Invite

FULTON, Mo. -- Bruin golfers finished 1-2-3 as the No. 6-ranked Bellevue University men's golf team stormed back from two strokes down to claim a 20-stroke victory over host William Woods University at the WWU Spring Invitational.

Rodrigo Navarrete and Alex Zillig both shot even par second rounds to finish 1-2 overall at 2-over and 3-over, respectively. Hugo Ronnberg trimmed two strokes off Monday's first round score as he carded a 1-over second round to finish the tournament in third place at 4-over.

William Woods began the day two strokes ahead of BU but a team score of 26-over on the day saw Bellevue quickly overcome that deficit. The Bruins shot 292 (+4) as a team for a 36-hole total of 590 (+14) while the Owls finished the tournament at 610 (+34).

Floris-Jan Oosterhof signed off on a 3-over round as he shaved five strokes off yesterday's total to finish in a tie for 16th place at 11-over.

Individual golfer Cameron Lampe shot 1-over on a day to climb into a tie for fifth place at 151 (+7) for the tournament. Fellow individual Evan Macke carded a 12-over round to finish at 22-over (166) in 41st place.
