MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University junior Andre Becerra (Guadalajara, Mexico) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golfer of the Week award is the fifth of Becerra's Bruin career and second this season, after previously being honored on Sept. 11.
Earlier this week, Becerra shot even-par to tie for first place among individuals at the Lewis University Flyer Intercollegiate. After recording a 1-over round on Monday, Becerra came back to shoot a second round-best 1-under on Tuesday to help Bellevue climb two spots in the team standings and earn a fourth place finish in a field that included schools from all three NCAA Divisions, the NAIA, and several Junior Colleges.
Bellevue next competes at the 2019 Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by the Nebraska Golf Association, on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12 at the Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk, Neb.
