LEMONT, Ill. -- Led by Andre Becerra, the Bellevue University men's golf team is currently in sixth place after the opening round of the 18-team Lewis Flyer Intercollegiate Classic played Monday at Cog Hill Dubsdread Course.

Bellevue sits in sixth place after posting an opening-round team score of 18-over par (306). Indian Hills CC leads the 18-team field at 5-under par in Monday's first round. Upper Iowa is 13 strokes back at 8-over par (296)
Individual Recap:
Becerra fired a first-round score of 1-over 73 and is currently tied for fifth place. Tobias Santilliam Tambosco is also in the top 10 at 2-over par, putting him in a tie for 9th in the 95-player field. Alex Zillig is tied for 43rd at 7-over (79). Floris-Jan Oosterhof and Cameron Lampe are both tied for 50th after each player posted 8-over-par totals of 80.
Indian Hills has the top two golfers in the field, including Harry Fearn who fired a 6-under 66 to lead the tournament. Jess MacNaughtan is in second at 2-under par.
