
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Led by two top-5 finishes, the Bellevue University men's golf team captured the team title at the Wildcat Cup Tuesday played at the par-72 Brickyard Crossing. The tournament featured 18 NAIA teams from across the Midwest.
The Bruins finished with a team total of 14-over par 590, shooting a 12-over 300 on Tuesday to go with Monday's 2-over 290. Host school Indiana Wesleyan placed second, six strokes back at 20-over 596.
Andre Becerra finished in fourth place at even par, shooting identical rounds of 72 on Monday and Tuesday. Alex Zillig placed fifth with a 1-over par total of 145 (70-75).
Juan Pablo Gomez and Jose Medina Garcia both finished in a tie for 14th place in the 98-player field at 7-over par. Rodrigo Navarette finished in a tie for 18th at 8-over par.
IWU's Cameron Luczka won the individual title with a 7-under total of 137 (65-72). Cardinal Stritch's Joaquin Perez placed second at 2-under par.
The Bruins will compete in the Iowa Central Open in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Sunday-Monday, April 14-15.
