MADISON, S.D. -- Fresh off his season-opening performance at the U.C. Ferguson Classic in Oklahoma City, freshman Rodrigo Navarette has earned North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week accolades in an announcement made today by league officials.
Navarette finished the 54-hole tournament at 5-under par, which garnered him fourth place honors in the 81-player field. His efforts helped guide the Bruins to a second place finish in the 14-team tournament.
Navarette posted rounds of 65, 69 and 74 on the par-71, 6,576-yard Lincoln Park Golf Course. He joined teammate Andre Becerra in finishing the tournament under par. Becerra finished in a tie for eighth place at 1-under par.
The Bruins will compete in the Southwestern Christian Fall Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 17-18 at the Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
