BU remains in second in NSAA Men's Golf Tournament

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Bellevue University men's golf team posted the best team score of the day but were only able to shave one stroke off of Jamestown's lead as they remain in second place in the 2017-18 North Star Athletic Association Men's Golf Tournament.

The Bruins shot a 12-over 300 for the third round at the 6,126-yardPrairie Links Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa.

Fernando Arzate (72) and Andre Beccera (72) both shot even par as three Bruins recorded rounds in the top 10 on the day. Juan Gomez was ninth on the day with a 5-over 77 and eighth overall through three rounds (+14, 230).

Arzate and Becerra are now the tournament co-leaders at 5-over (221) through three rounds of play, two strokes ahead of third place Jacob Rice (+7, 223).

Inaki Aldao (+7, 79) and Lautaro Marzilio (+8, 80) were tied for 13th and 17th place, respectively.

Nolan Frank fired a 1-under (71) round for the Jimmies who still hold an 18-shot advantage over second place Bellevue with one round remaining.

Jamestown entered Monday with a 19-stroke lead after tally a 12-over total of 588 in the first two rounds contested in the fall at Bully Pulpit Golf Course.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the fourth round set to begin at 9 a.m.
