NORFOLK, Neb. -- Balanced scoring by all four golfers guided the Bellevue University men's golf team to a second-place finish in the 13-team Nebraska Intercollegiate Classic Saturday played at the Norfolk Country Club. The tournament was reduced to 18 holes after Friday's opening round was cancelled due to extremely wet course conditions.

The Bruins finished with a team score of 14-over par 302, three strokes behind tournament champion University of Nebraska at Kearney, which finished at 11-over par, 299.

Fernando Arzate and Andre Becerra both finished in a tie for 12th place with 3-over-par 75's. Juan Gomez and Lautaro Marzilio were both one stroke behind at 4-over par as both carded 76's on the day, good for a tie for 14th place.

UNK's Jay Cottam and Riley Williams, along with Midland's Hunter Giesselman finished in a three-way tie for first individually, as all three shot 2-under-par 70.

Bellevue will travel to Kohler, Wis. on Oct. 16-17 to participate in the Whistling Straights Intercollegiate Championship.
