MADISON, S.D. -- Junior Fernando Arzate has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance earlier this week at the Grand View Viking Classic in Polk City, Iowa.
Arzate finished in fourth place in the eight-team GV Viking Classic, helping the Bruins overcome an 8-stroke final round deficit, to claim the title over No. 8-ranked Northwestern Ohio.
Arzate carded rounds of 69, 77, and 73 on the par-71, 7043-yard Tournament Club of Iowa course, finishing at 6-over for the tournament.
It marked the first time this season and the sixth time in his career that Arzate has won the weekly honor.
Bellevue returns to the course on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 6-7 when they look to defend their title at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship at Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk, Neb.
