MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University freshman Andre Becerra has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference.
Beccera (Guadalajara, Mexico) captured the individual title at the 11-team TPC Deere Run Invitational to lead the Bruins to a second-place finish at the event. He posted a two-round total of 6-under par 136 to come out atop the field of 60 golfers. Becerra fired identical rounds of 3-under in both rounds of the tournament.
The award is the first of Becerra's career and he is the second Bruin to win the honor during the spring season.
Bellevue returns to the course on Tuesday-Wednesday, Apr. 11-12 when they venture to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Wildcat Cup at the Brickyard.
