
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Junior Fernando Arzate shot a 2-under par 70 to help lead the Bellevue University men's golf squad to the team title at the 15-team Nebraska Intercollegiate Classic Saturday at the 6,735-yard, par-72 Norfolk Country Club.
Bellevue finished with a team total of 594 (299-295) to finish five strokes ahead of second-place Midland University
Arzate captured the individual title with a 1-under par 36-hole total of 143 (73-70). He collected three birdies on the day and just one bogey along with 14 pars.
Diego Gudino finished 3-over par for the tournament after firing an even-par 72 Saturday. He birdied two of the final three holes and was 3-under for the closing nine holes to finish third overall in the individual standings.
After an opening-round even-par 72, Nicolas Handal finished 6-over for the tournament with a closing round 78, good for a tie for 11th place.
Juan Gomez rounded out the Bruin scoring with a 4-over 76 Saturday, finishing the tournament in a tie for 24th place with an 11-over par two-round total of 155 (79-76).
The Bruins will conclude the fall season on Oct. 17-18 at the Lawrence Tech Kohler Classic in Kohler, Wis.
