
ANKENY, Iowa -- The Bellevue University men's golf team played a strong second round en route to a fourth place finish at the Grand View Spring Viking Classic at Otter Creek Golf Course on Tuesday.
After shooting 2-under as a team yesterday, the Bruins put up a team score of 4-over 288. Mount Mercy won the team title with a two-round score of 546, 13 strokes ahead of Grand View (559). Iowa Western (562) followed in third place.
The Bruins had a pair of top ten finishers. Fernando Arzate place second with back-to-back under par rounds after posting a 1-under 70 and Diego Gudino tied for ninth with a 2-under 69.
Marc Juggins shot a 2-over 73 while Juan Gomez and Nicolas Handal each carded scores of 5-over 76.
Bellevue returns to play Monday-Tuesday, Apr. 25-26 with the North Star Athletic Association Championships at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. Scores carry over from the fall and Bellevue holds a six strokes lead over second place Viterbo.
