Bruins place sixth at Bent Tree Intercollegiate

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- The Bellevue University men's golf team placed sixth among the 12-team field at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate at the Bent Tree Golf Club, hosted by the Iowa Western Community College.

Diego Gudino and Fernando Arzate were the top finishers for the Bruins, placing in a tie for 16th place with scores of 226 apiece. Jakob Bares of Indian Hills was the top individual overall, finishing with a score of 206 (-10).

Marc Juggins and Mike Hannon both tied for 28th place overall with scores of 230. Nicolas Handal placed in a tie for 38th after carding a 234 for the event and Juan Gomez fired a three-round score of 237 to tie for 42nd.

Indian Hills won the team title with a score of three-round score of 849 (-15), finishing 23 strokes ahead of Dodge City. The Bruins placed ninth with a three-round score of 946, seven strokes behind Nebraska-Kearney and 21 strokes ahead of Iowa Western "B".

Bellevue returns to play on Friday when they play at the Nebraska Intercollegiate Classic. The event is sponsored by the Nebraska Golf Association and will be played at the Norfolk Country Club.
