BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University freshman Fernando Arzate has been named North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the NSAA. Arzate led the Bruins to a fourth place finish in their second event of the season, the U.C. Ferguson Classic.
Arzate had a strong showing at the U.C. Ferguson Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City University, placing second overall in the 82-golfer field. Arzate shot an even part 71 in the opening round and followed that up with a 2-under 69 in the second round to head into the final day in the lead. After carding a 2-over 73 in the final round, Arzate finished with a score of 213 (E).
Bellevue returns to the links on Monday, Sept. 28 to compete in the two-day North Star Fall Tournament which is being held in Fargo, N.D. at the Oxbow Country Club.
