MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Led by Jose Vega, the Bellevue University men's golf team finished in third place in the 10-team Graceland University Spring Invitational held at the Mozinga Lake Golf Course.
The Bruins finished with a 36-hole team total of 613 (303-310). AIB College of Business won the tournament with a 586 (297-289) total. William Penn University garnered second-place honors with a 600 (298-302).
Vega tied for eighth place with a two-day total of 8-over par 152 (74-78). Diego Gudino was one stroke behind Vega with a 153 (78-75), putting him in a tie for 12th place. Mike Hannon tied for 18th place with a two-day showing of 156 (76-80). Juan Gomez tied for 23rd after shooting 159 (82-77) in the two-day tournament. Tomas Ovejero rounded out the Bruin scoring with a 160 (75-85) total.
AIB's Lucas Boyd won the tournament with a 3-under par score of 141 (71-70).
The Bruins will travel to Midwest City, Okla. on Monday-Tuesday, April 6-7, to participate in the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational.
