KOHLER, Wis. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team is tied for sixth place after the first day of competition at the Kohler Collegiate Classic on Monday at the Whistling Straits Golf Course.
Texas Wesleyan University leads the 15-team field with a score of 310 while the Bruins are tied in sixth place with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a first day round of 317.
Jose Vega and Mike Hannon paced BU with a round of 77 to tie for ninth place.
Nicolas Handal is tied for 30th after a first round total of 80 while Tomas Ovejero recorded an 83.
Nicolas Herrera carded an 84 to place 54th overall.
Ryan Hilton (Ashford), Renen Sahr (Midland) and Nick Corban (Wisconsin-Parkside) are tied for first place individually with first round scores of 73.
Tournament action with conclude tomorrow (Oct. 22).
