OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Led by Taylor Sundbom, the Bellevue University men's golf team sits in second place after two rounds of the 54-hole U.C. Ferguson Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City University at the Lincoln Park Golf Course.
The teams played two rounds of 18 holes on the par 71 course that measured 6,576 yards. Tournament host Oklahoma City leads the 13-team field at 549 (273-276). Bellevue is three strokes back at 552 (279-273). Bellevue's second-round team score of 273 was the lowest of the day for any team in the field.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start time.
After shooting an even-par 71 to open the day, Sundbom fired a 7-under par 64 and is currently tied for fourth place in the individual standings.
Jose Vega is tied for ninth at 5-under par (68-69 - 137). John Matthews is currently 2-under (71-69 - 140) par and tied for 16th place. Davis Garner registered a 1-under total of 141 (69-72) and is tied for 19th. Javier Franco is currently 5-over par at 147 (76-71).
Oklahoma City's Anthony Marchesani and Oklahoma Christian's Sam Johnston are currently tied for the lead individually at 10-under par.
