BEEMER, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team opened the 2012-13 season with a second-place finish at the Midland University Fall Invite at the par 71 Indian Trails Country Club.
The Bruins finished with a team score of 300, three strokes off the pace of team champion Northwestern (Iowa) College, who finished with a score of 297.
Jose Vega finished in a tie for second place individually with a 1-over par 72. Javier Franco (75) and Taylor Sundbom (76) each had top 10 finishes for the Bruins.
Bellevue will next be in action Sept. 4-5 when they travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. for the Southwestern Christian Tournament.
