SEWARD, Neb. -- TeShon Burton scored 20 points to lead six players in double figures but it wasn't enough as the Bellevue University basketball dropped a 97-96 overtime decision at Concordia University on Friday evening at the Cattle Classic.

Jamie Pearson scored off a turnover with five seconds remaining in overtime to give Concordia a one-point lead. Bellevue called a timeout after the basket to set up a play but couldn't get a shot off on the final possession and the Bulldogs came away with the one-point win.

The Bruins were hot from deep on the evening, hitting on 42.4 percent (14-of-33) of their attempts from beyond the three-point arc. Bellevue also took advantage when they got to three free throw line on the evening, connecting on 18-of-23 attempts (78.3%).

Jamie Pearson scored a game-high 37, including knocking down seven threes, while Chandler Folkerts went for 26 for Concordia. As a team, the Bulldogs were 48.2 percent (13-for-27) from beyond the arc. Robby Thomas contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite being undersized the Bruins were competitive in the rebounding battle with the Bulldogs out-rebounding Bellevue 40-36. The Bruins made up for being out-rebounded by winning the turnover battle, committing 12 against 18 for the Bulldogs.

Joining TeShon Burton in double figures were Marquis Aaron (16), Chris Burton (14), Chris Ashanti (13), Jerred Cook (11), and Mike Cardenas (10). Chris Burton led the Bruins with seven rebounds while Aaron added six and Ashanti and Carl Robinson chipped in with five apiece.

The 8th-ranked Bruins (2-1) are back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 5 p.m. game against York.
