WICHITA, Kan. -- The Bellevue University League of Legends eSports team went 1-2 last weekend in three matches at the Midwest League of Legends Open, hosted by Wichita eSports Convention.
The Bruins began the double-elimination portion of the tournament with a tough 2-1 loss to Grand View University – whom BU defeated earlier in the week as part of the RIOT College League of Legends Season.
BU bounced back in their second match, defeating Life Prep Academy 2-0. LPA showed up late, taking a forfeit in the first game before conceding the second game after just 15 minutes of play as the Bellevue overwhelmed them.
Bellevue wrapped up the competition with a 2-0 loss to Maryville University. BU Coach Alex Rogers said that the team had a "pretty good showing" but noted that the team "still has work to do moving forward."
With this past weekend's matches counted as exhibitions, BU maintains their 7-2-1 record in competitive matches, not including matches.
The Bruins will next compete in a RIOT College LoL fourth round match against another 3-0 team. The opponent, as well as match information, will be announced in the coming days.
