Ozzy Gonzalez joined the Bellevue coaching staff during the 2018-19 school year. He is tasked with working with the program's catchers and hitters.
Gonzalez concluded his collegiate playing career by turning in an All-America season with the Bruins in 2015. A catcher with that BU squad Gonzalez earned first team NAIA All-America, MCAC Player of the Year, first team all-MCAC, MCAC Gold Glove, and was named an honorary co-captain on the NAIA all-Nebraska team by the Omaha World-Herald.
He appeared in 61 games for the Bruins and slashed .418/.508/.779 with 29 doubles, 16 home runs, 65 RBI, and 31 runs scored.
