Lacey collects NSAA weekly award

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University senior Jake Lacey (Gillette, Wyo.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the NSAA office on Monday afternoon.

Last week, Lacey recorded hits in four of five games as BU went 5-0 with a win over York and four-game NSAA sweep of Valley City State. He posted a trio of multi-hit games, including three-hit efforts in games two and four against Valley City.

Lacey batted .474/.583/.1.000 with a 1.583 OPS. He totaled six extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs, led the team with 10 RBI and nine runs scored, and was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.

In the Bruins' 14-10 victory over the Vikings in the series finale, Lacey went 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs, matched a career-high with five runs scored, and set a new personal best with six RBI. His three-run home runs in consecutive innings were crucial in keeping momentum on the Bruins' side.

Bellevue (18-11/4-0 NSAA) hosts Morningside University (22-5-1) tomorrow at 3 p.m. from John Stella Field at Brown Park before welcoming Dickinson State University (11-18/3-1 NSAA) to town for a four-game NSAA series this weekend.
