BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Bellevue University baseball team has been picked to win their sixth-straight North Star Athletic Association Regular Season title today, as the league office announced the NSAA Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Bruins are ranked No. 15 in the Preseason NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, and are the lone North Star program represented in the poll.
Bellevue posted a 39-14 mark a season ago, going 21-2 in North Star play en route to winning a fifth-straight NSAA regular season and a third-straight NSAA Tournament crown.
Since joining the NSAA for the 2016-17 academic year, BU has won seven of eight NSAA regular season crowns and six of eight tournament titles.
The Bruins earned an automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round, reaching the National Tournament for the 13th-straight season and 26th time overall.
Second Team All-American catcher Logan Grant headlines the returners this season. Also returning is last year's NSAA Newcomer of the Year and Preseason NAIA All-American, first baseman Steven Elsner along with first team all-NSAA outfielders Jake Lacey and Anthony Lind and closer Teron Williams. A pair of honorable mention all-conference performers in pitcher Brady Toth and infielder CJ Townsend are also back.
