Grant garners NSAA honors

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University junior Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alberta) has been chosen as the North Star Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the NSAA office on Monday.

Grant his safely in all five games last week to extend his hitting streak to 14 games. He reached base safely at least three times in four of five games as he batted .619 with an OPS of 2.394 which featured a slugging percentage of 1.714.

He hit six home runs and drove in 17 runs on the week. Ten of his 13 hits went for extra-bases.

He matched a program single-game record with three home runs and drove in nine runs in the series finale against Mayville State. It was the second three-home run game of Grant's career.

On the season, Grant is batting .361 with an OPS of 1.166. He leads the team with 14 home runs and 54 RBI and ranks second with 11 doubles.

Bellevue (30-11/15-1 NSAA) travels to Sioux City, Iowa tomorrow for a 6 p.m. non-conference match-up against Morningside University before returning home to host Dakota State University in a pivotal conference series beginning on Friday, Apr. 19 at 1 p.m. from John Stella Field at Brown Park. The Bruins sit atop the conference standings with a one-game lead over the Trojans and eight games to play.
