OMAHA, Neb. -- The No. 5-ranked Bellevue University baseball team split a North Star Athletic Association double-header with Mayville State University on Friday afternoon at Brown Park, winning the opener 5-4 and falling 4-2 in the nightcap.

Mayville tied the game in the fifth with a pair of hits off the end of the bat. Tyler Ferrera started the rally with a one-out bloop hit to center before Adam Senden flared a ball just a bit deeper into center two batters later to tie the game.

The game remained tied 1-1 until the fifth when Conner Barnett hit into a bases loaded fielder's choice with one out but was ruled safe at first as neither umpire could determine where Senden kept his foot on the bag during a double play attempt.

Braxton Greenburg and Blake Crippen locked horns in a pitchers duel in game two.
