Davis lands on World Series All-Tournament team

NAIA Release

LEWISTON, Idaho -- Bellevue University senior Brenton Davis (Raymond, Neb.) earned recognition on the 2022 Avista NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team, as announced by the NAIA following the conclusion of the National Championship Game this morning.

Davis, one of two catchers, named to the 16-player team hit .364 in Lewiston with a 1.326 OPS that saw him launch a pair of home runs. He put the Bruins on the board against LSU Shreveport with a two-run shot to center. In an elimination game against MNU, Davis again went deep with an opposite field blast before coming in to score the game-winning run on an eighth-inning suicide squeeze.

Across three rounds of postseason play totaling 11 games, Davis was BU's second leading hitter with a .342 average. He produced a 1.220 OPS with a team-leading five home runs and 12 RBI while sporting the tools of ignorance for a pitching staff that produced a 2.42 ERA during the postseason.

Bellevue wrapped up their 2022 season earlier this week. During the campaign the Bruins posted a 49-13 overall mark, going 25-2 in conference play winning both the NSAA Regular-Season and Tournament Titles. BU took the league's lone automatic bid as they made their 24th NAIA National Tournament Appearance, hosting their fourth Opening Round at Don Roddy Field, and advancing to the program's 15 Avista NAIA World Series.
