Third time's a charm for Johnson as NSAA Pitcher of the Week

BISMARCK, N.D. -- For the third-straight week, Bellevue University senior Elijah Johnson (Omaha, Neb.) has been voted the North Star Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Johnson continued his dominant work on the mound in his lone start last week. In a rematch of last year's NAIA Opening Round Championship Game, Johnson guided the Bruins past (RV) Concordia University, with a two-hit shutout in which he struck out 13 batters over seven innings.

Johnson is now 4-1 with a 1.70 ERA for the season. He has punched out 54 batters in 37 innings of work (13.1 K/9) and issued just 11 walks for a 4.9 SO:BB ratio. He has produced three-straight shutout starts in which he has pitched seven innings, allowing a total of just eight hits while striking out 29 against four walks in 21 innings.

Bellevue, ranked 10th nationally, stands at 13-7 overall and opens conference play this weekend when they welcome Viterbo to Omaha, Neb. for a four-game set.
