BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University junior Charlie Patterson (Eugene, Ore.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the NSAA office on Monday afternoon.
Patterson fired seven inning of three-hit ball to lead Bellevue to a 5-0 win over Mayville in the third game of the weekend series. In that start he struck out five batters and worked around four walks as just one base runner reached third base on the afternoon.
On the season, Patterson sees his overall record improve to 4-0 while lowering his ERA to 3.22 across seven appearances, six of which have been starts. Through 36.1 innings, he has struck out 45 batters for a rate of 11.15 strikeouts per nine innings.
Bellevue (19-10) hosts Morningside University (13-17) tomorrow at Roddy Field with first pitch set for 6 p.m. The Bruins are 2-0 against the Mustangs this season with both wins coming in an October double-header at Brown Park.
