VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- Kory Longaker and Austin Alexander both went deep to lead No. 21-ranked Bellevue University baseball team to a 7-3 win over second-seeded Waldorf University on Sunday afternoon in North Star Athletic Association Tournament action at Charlie Brown Memorial Field.

Kory Longaker put the Bruins on the board in the top of the first with his 11th long ball of the season, a solo shot to left field.
JT Patterson singled in Longaker in the third to double the BU lead to 2-0 before Austin Alexander turned on a pitch for a two-out, three-run shot to right and a 5-0 Bellevue advantage. It was the seventh home run of the season for Alexander.
Waldorf got a pair of runs back in the fourth courtesy of a two-run home run to center by Matthew Garcia.
The teams traded runs in the seventh inning with Tommy Hansen delivering an RBI-single for BU and Dusty Rogers chasing a run home with a sac fly for Waldorf.
BU added an insurance run in the eighth when courtesy runner Brandon Sparks came home on a wild pitch.
Colton Walker (5-2) struck out 10 Waldorf batters and kept the Warriors at bay with a quality start. Over 7-plus innings, he allowed just three runs on six hits.
Derek Browne came on with a pair of runners on first and second with nobody out in the eighth but was able to pitch the Bruins out a trouble. A 1-2-3 ninth inning secured Browne's second save of the season.
Dylan Hoffman (4-3) lasted just three innings for the Warriors before exiting after having allowed five runs on six hits and three walks.
Nick Tebeau and Nicholas Ray combined to throw six effective innings of relief for Waldorf, limiting Bellevue to just two runs on four hits.

Bellevue moves on to tomorrow's championship round at 11 a.m. against an opponent to be determined later today. The Bruins will need one win tomorrow while their opponent will need to defeat BU twice to earn the title.
Waldorf plays the winner of Valley City-Mayville State at 5 p.m. today in an elimination game with the winner advancing to face the Bruins tomorrow at 11 a.m.
