FREMONT, Neb. -- Tony Monroy provided a quality start, working 6.1 innings and limiting Midland University to three runs, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors' pitchers held the Bellevue University bats to four hits in a 4-1 Midland non-conference victory on Tuesday afternoon.

The loss is the fourth in five games for the #17 Bruins (33-11) and it marks just the third time all year that Bellevue has dropped back-to-back games. Midland improves to 20-26 with the victory, their third in their last four match-ups with the Bruins.

Bellevue manufactured a run when Ross Feeley (1-3, RBI) singled home Kevin Rodriguez (1-3, run) in the top of the third. Rodriguez singled with one out, stole second, and took third on a passed ball. After a Trevor Jones (1-3) groundout, Rodriguez came in to score on Feeley's base knock.

The Warriors tied things up in the bottom of the fifth. With two outs and runners on the corners Dylan Steyer (2-4, 2 RBI) singled home Jake Loftus (3-4, 2 runs) who had doubled earlier in the inning to level the score at 1-1.

Three runs in the seventh were enough as the 'pen made a 4-1 Midland lead stand through the 27th out. After getting the first out of the inning, six straight Warriors reached base including Zach Kinsella (1-4, RBI) and Steyer who each recorded RBI singles and Devin Gardner (1-3, RBI, BB) who drew a bases loaded walk to chase home the fourth and final Midland run.

John Timmins (0-1) took the loss in relief, allowing a pair of hits and a walk without recording an out.

The Bruins return to the diamond when they host their final Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference home series of the season against College of the Ozarks at Westgate Field on Friday and Saturday. Friday's action starts at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday – which is Senior Day – will see a noon start.
