DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Clayton Wagner limited the Bruins to just five hits over eight scoreless innings as the Bellevue University baseball team fell, 5-0, to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Monday night at Sliwa Stadium.

A day after the 12th-ranked Bruins rallied for a 3-2 victory the bats were silent as Bellevue fell to 7-3 on the year while No. 11 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) improved to 12-6 with the victory.

Torres-Perez (1-1) yielded just one earned run but saw his ERA tick up to 1.59 on the year while striking out three.

Embry-Riddle struck first on a fielding error in the bottom of the second as Kyle Buchanan reached on a fielder's choice and Liam Goodall scored. The Eagles doubled their advantage with a second unearned run an inning later on an RBI-groundout by Jake Cavender that scored Tobias Moreno.

The Eagles struck for their lone earned run of the evening in the fifth when Joshua Garcia delivered a two-out single to right center to plate Moreno. A pair of errors opened the way to two more runs in the inning as Embry-Riddle claimed a commanding 5-0 lead.

Juniors Leland Tilley (Exeter, Calif.) and John Timmins (Omaha, Neb.) combined to work three hitless innings of relief for the Bruins out of the bullpen.

Junior DH Osvaldo Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) recorded his fourth straight multi-hit game (2-4) to up his batting average to .406.

Junior second baseman Ross Feeley (Tehachapi, Calif.), senior catcher Aaron Brasher (Vallejo, Calif.), and junior shortstop Kevin Rodriguez (Pico Rivera, Calif.) each recorded a hit in the loss.

The Bruins will next play on Tuesday, Mar. 3 at Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla. at 3:00 p.m.
