KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bellevue University senior left-handed pitcher/outfielder Kyle Kinman has been named this week's NAIA National Pitcher of the Week in an announcement made by the national office today.

Kinman struck out a school record 22 batters against College of the Ozarks on March 15. The 22 strikeouts are also the most in a game this season in the NAIA.

He gave up just four hits and didn't walk a batter in the complete game. Kinman also finished with two hits, two RBIs and one stolen base to lead the Bruins to a 6-2 conference road win.

A native of Omaha, Neb., Kinman has posted a 3-1 record with three complete games and a 2.27 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 31.2 innings of work. He ranks third in the NAIA with 13.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

He's also batting .358 with six doubles, one triple, two home runs, four stolen bases, 14 runs scored and 21 RBIs.

Kinman earned second team all-MCAC honors last year and has been named the conference's Pitcher of the Week twice and the Player of the Week once in his Bruin career.

The 14th-ranked Bruins (13-6-2, 3-1 MCAC) will welcome Briar Cliff University (7-11) to Westgate Field tomorrow for a single nine-inning contest. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
