LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The 14th-ranked Bellevue University baseball team defeated Bethel (Ind.) College 6-0 Thursday morning in its first game of the Warner University Tournament in nonconference action.

The Bruins were scheduled to play Siena Heights University later today, but that game has been moved to Saturday, March 8 due to rainy conditions. First pitch is set for 11:30 a.m. CST.

BU will continue tournament action tomorrow (March 7) with games against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) and host Warner University. The Bruins tied with Warner, 5-5, on March 4.

With the win, Bellevue improves to 7-5-1 overall while the Pilots remain winless on the season and dropped to 0-10.

Tyler Blood went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Galli Cribbs registered two hits, two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI. Kyle Kinman and Nate Mullins both recorded a pair of RBIs.

Kinman also picked up the win on the mound and moved to 2-1 this year. He struck out five batters in the complete game four-hitter.

The Bruins scored the first run of the game in the third after Kinman drew a bases-loaded walk that scored Blood who led the inning off with a single.

BU added to its lead on Mark Medalia's RBI single in the top of the third inning.

Mullins put the Bruins on top by four runs in the sixth inning after a two-out two-run triple allowed Bryce Kelly and Gribbs to cross home plate.

The Bruins used RBI singles by Kinman and Cribbs to go up 6-0 in the seventh inning.

Jason Hurlock fell to 0-3 after giving up all six runs on seven hits with six walks and one strikeout in 6.2 innings of work.
