Steve Field

Steve Field became Bellevue University’s Sports Information Director in April, 2009 after serving as the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Associate Sports Information Director for 19 years.

While at UNO, Field handled media relations for the school’s 16 intercollegiate sports, led a complete overhaul of the UNO athletic website, served as the department’s publication coordinator, and updated and archived the department’s statistical records. Field has earned 24 “Best in the Nation” awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida), recognizing excellence in producing, designing and editing collegiate athletic publications.

Field was recognized as the North Star Athletic Association's Sports Information Director of the Year in 2021-22. 

He is an active member of CoSida, the NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA), and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). For three years, he served on the CoSIDA Publications Contest Committee.

Active within the NAIA, Field serves on the NAIA's voting committee for National Player of the Week for the following sports: cross country, track, wrestling, golf and tennis.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Field earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from UNO and recently completed his master's degree at Bellevue University in 2011.

In addition to his sports information duties, Field serves as an assistant coach for the Bruin volleyball program.

Field has six children: Kaitlin, Olivia, Kaleb, Jonny, Zach, and Deirdre.
