In addition to coaching in the collegiate ranks, Gold spent seven years coaching at the club level, most recently at Elite Volleyball Academy in Little Rock, Ark., working with their National teams. Gold also served as an Executive Board Member with the team for three years, where his tasks included helping to recruit new players and plan fundraiser activities for the club. During this time, Gold started on his coaching path, working as a student assistant for three seasons with GVSU volleyball, including handling film recording and breakdown for the 2014 team that reached the NCAA DII Final Four.

Gold was born in Detroit and was raised in Huntington Woods, Mich. He is an alum of GVSU, where he was a double major in Sports Management and Broadcasting, earning his two Bachelor of Science degrees in 2016.
