Aiwohi, Kiviniemi net NSAA weekly honors

BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Bellevue University volleyball program had two players honored with North Star Athletic Association weekly honors as freshman setter Mila Aiwohi was named the NSAA Setter of the Week and sophomore rightside hitter Kealy Kiviniemi garnered NSAA Attacker of the Week honors. 

Aiwohi averaged 6.5 assists and 1.17 digs per set in helping the Bruins to a pair of road sweeps at Dickinson State University and Valley City State University. She also added two service aces in the win at VCSU. Aiwohi compiled 21 assists, four digs, and two service aces as BU avenged an earlier season loss to the Vikings. She recorded 18 assists and three digs in the victory at DiSU. 

Aiwohi currently ranks fifth in the league with 6.18 assists per set. 

Kiviniemi, who earned her second NSAA weekly honor this season, averaged 3.50 kills per game while hitting an impressive .487 on the week. She pounded 11 kills on .500 hitting in the sweep at VCSU. In the win over the Blue Hawks, Kiviniemi registered 10 kills, three digs, and a pair of blocks. She committed just two attacking errors in the two matches.  

In the latest conference statistics, Kiviniemi ranks third with a .293 hitting percentage and fifth with 302 kills. 

The Bruins wrap up the regular season this Friday, Nov. 3, when they host Mayville State University at 5 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Bellevue's two seniors, Allie Kerns and Taylan Keefer, will be honored following the contest.
