Bruins sweep IUK to go 4-0 at Labor Day Classic

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 13th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept (RV) Indiana University-Kokomo 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20) Saturday afternoon in the Bruins' final contest at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic being played at the Lied Activity Center. 

The Bruins finished the tournament 4-0 and improved to 10-1 on the season. IUK dropped to 5-3 on the season. 

Eve Fountain recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing with 11 kills on .320 hitting and 10 digs. Allie Kerns hit .269, collecting nine kills and 10 digs. 

Kealy Kiviniemi smashed eight kills on 24 errorless swings and added two blocks. 

Taylan Keefer's 14 digs and Chloe Cloud's four blocks anchored the Bruin defense that held the Cougars to a .081 hitting clip. 

Mila Aiwohi (21) and Jada Nunn (13) combined for 34 assists while directing the BU offense to a .262 attacking clip. 

The three-set win marked the Bruins' seventh sweep of the 2023 campaign.

The Bruins will travel to McPherson, Kan., next Thursday, Sept. 7, for a 7 p.m. non-conference match at McPherson College.
