Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced the signing today of 6-1 middle blocker Morgan Wale (Henderson, Nev./Coronado HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2023.

Wale, the daughter of Jeff and Victoria Wale, prepped at Coronado High School under coach Matt Johnson. She was a two-time first-team 5A all-conference selection and an honorable mention all-state honoree.

Wale ranked first in the conference in hitting percentage in her junior season and second as a senior. As a senior, she led the conference in blocks per set and was the starting middle blocker on the 5A Nevada state championship team.

During her career at Coronado, Wale compiled 274 kills, 105 digs, and 322 blocks.

"Morgan is a player that will provide huge depth in the middle," said Siedlik. "She has a great energy that will blend nicely with the class that will be coming in. Morgan's height allows us to have that big front-row presence along with court vision finesse. We had a wonderful time getting to know her and her family on her visit. We are so happy that she chose to be a Bruin!"

Wale excelled academically as well, being named to the school's Honor Roll for 15 quarters. She was also a two-time all-state student-athlete with a weighted GPA of 4.72.

Wale becomes the 10th signee in the Class of 2023, joining earlier signees: 5-0 setter/defensive specialist Mila Aiwohi (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/Farrington HS), 5-0 defensive specialist Lia Aiwohi (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/Farrington HS), 5-7, defensive specialist/setter Jayna Hope (Bellevue, Neb./Cumberland/Bellevue West HS), 6-0 rightside hitter/middle blocker Kealy Kiviniemi (Bellevue, Neb./Washburn/Bellevue West HS), 5-8 outside hitter/defensive specialist Ali Butler (Omaha, Neb./Millard South HS), 5-9 outside hitter/defensive specialist Rowyn Scheer (Elkhorn, Neb./Elkhorn South HS), 5-8 outside hitter Aspen Meyer (Nebraska City, Neb./Nebraska City Lourdes Central Catholic HS), 5-9 outside hitter Kylie Wessel (Humphrey, Neb./Humphrey St. Francis HS), and 5-10 middle blocker Kaylani Reis (Salt Lake City, Utah/Arizona Western/West HS).

The Bruins finished the 2022 season with a 28-8 overall record and a No. 14 national ranking, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the 15th time in school history. BU shared the NSAA regular-season title with Viterbo after recording a 13-1 conference ledger. The Bruins placed second at the NSAA Post-Season Tournament.
