Galas nets third-straight weekly conference honor

MADISON, S.D. -- For the third-straight week, senior Olivia Galas has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' four matches at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic. It marked the 27th time in her BU career that she has earned the honor. 

Galas nearly recorded triple-doubles in the Bruins' matches against nationally-ranked Dakota Wesleyan and Central Methodist. 

For the week, she averaged 11.18 assists, 2.82 digs, and 1.76 kills per set while hitting at a .450 attacking clip. 

In the five-set win over No. 17 Dakota Wesleyan, Galas recorded a season-high 65 assists, while adding 10 kills on 16 errorless swings, along with nine digs. 

She followed that up with 55 assists, 19 digs, and nine kills in a five-set loss to No. 15 Central Methodist. 

In a four-game victory over Columbia International. Galas registered 47 assists, 14 digs, seven kills, and three service aces. 

Switching to a 6-2 offense in the final match against Westmont, Galas tallied 23 assists, six digs, and four kills on five swings.  

The Bruins will head to Grand Rapids, Mich. for four matches at the Aquinas/Cornerstone Volleyball Classic on Sept. 9-10.
