No. 15 Central Methodist pulls out five-set win over BU

BELLEVUE, Neb. --  Despite four Bruins recording double-digit kills, the 12th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team fell in five sets (19-25, 28-26, 25-21, 23-25, 11-15) to No. 15 Central Methodist Friday evening in the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic.

With the loss, the Bruins fell to 4-3 on the season. CMU improved to 4-1 overall.

Rosa Reed-Bouley led BU with 15 kills, four digs, and three blocks.

Jacki Apel collected 12 kills and five blocks. Haley Fleischman added 12 kills and six blocks.

Sierra Athen was the fourth Bruin in double figures, recording a double-double with 11 kills and 18 digs.

For the second-straight match, Olivia Galas nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 55 assists, 19 digs, and nine kills.

Taylan Keefer anchored the Bruin defense with 22 digs.

Callie Hanson paced the eagles with 20 kills on .306 hitting while adding five digs and three blocks.  

The Bruins will close out the tournament on Saturday with a 3 p.m. match against Columbia International (S.C.) and a 7 p.m. battle with Westmont.
