Millard North's Eve Fountain becomes newest BU Volleyball Signee

After a standout career at Millard North High School in Omaha, 5-9 outside hitter Eve Fountain has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Bellevue University under the direction of BU head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik. Fountain will begin her athletic and academic endeavors at BU beginning in the fall of 2020.

Fountain, the daughter of Dennis and Sheila Fountain, helped lead Millard North, under head coach Lindsay Peterson, to two Nebraska Class A state championships and one runner-up finish. A three-year starter, Fountain was a two-time first-team all-state selection and was ranked as the #4 player in Nebraska in 2019-20 by MaxPreps.

Her MNHS squad won four-straight district championships while qualifying for the Nebraska State Tournament all four years of her high school career.

She finished her senior season with 376 kills, 333 digs, 42 blocks, and 33 service aces. For her career, Fountain tallied 660 kills, 852 digs, 128 service aces, and 81 total blocks.

"Eve was one of the biggest surprises added to this local group and class of 2020," said Siedlik. "Tabbed as one of the best hitters in the state, Eve will add more depth on the left side. She has been on successful teams with experience in pressure situations. We are excited to add another one from Coach Peterson's squad."

Fountain played club volleyball for Nebraska Elite and Nebraska Juniors, most recently under head coach Ryan Coomes.

Fountain joins earlier signees 5-2 libero/defensive specialist Jorie Lincoln (Waianae, Hawaii/Tacoma CC/Kamehameha Schools Kapalama), 5-11 rightside hitter Isidora Nahayo (Omaha, Neb./Westside HS), 5-7 outside hitter/defensive specialist Anna Koehler (Springfield, Neb./Platteview HS), 5-11 middle blocker/rightside hitter Jacki Apel (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue West HS) and 5-5 libero/defensive specialist Taylan Keefer (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Abraham Lincoln HS) in the 2020 recruiting class.

The Bruins finished the 2019 season with a 28-10 overall record, making their 12th appearance in the NAIA National Tournament after finishing second in the NSAA regular-season standings. BU advanced to the NAIA National Championship final site for the ninth time in school history and finished with a No. 19 final national ranking.
