MADISON, S.D. -- Junior right side hitter Shayla Scanlan has been named the North Star Athletic Association Attacker of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' four matches last week.
Scanlan recorded double-digit kills in three of four matches as the No. 19-ranked Bruins went 4-0 on the week, extending their winning streak to 10 matches. She averaged 3.4 kills per set and hit .373 (51 total kills with 13 attack errors in 102 attempts). She also had 13 block assists for the week (0.9 blocks per set).
Scanlan drilled 18 kills in the five-set upset over No. 15 Doane on Wednesday and hit over .450 in three of four matches. She leads the team with 248 kills on the season, a .337 hitting percentage and 46 total blocks.
Bellevue will host Presentation College on Tuesday (Sept. 26) in a 5 p.m. NSAA matchup at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
