Siedlik signs Myers to 2014 recruiting class

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-9 outside hitter Gracie Myers (Treynor, Iowa/Treynor HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2014.

The daughter of Jay and Sally, Meyers was coached by Janet Fiene at Treynor High School where she was a four-year starter.

Myers was a three-time all-conference selection and recorded 331 kills, 105 digs, 40 blocks and 23 service aces as a senior. She also led the conference in kills as a junior and senior.

"Gracie is a smooth and solid ball control player that still has a lot of untouched talent to be explored," said head coach Trish Siedlik. "We're looking forward to working with her not only on the court but also in the weight room to see how much more strength she can get out of her game."

Myers, who also lettered in basketball, softball and golf, played for the Third Degree Volleyball Club where she helped lead her squad to the 2012 regional championship.

She also excelled in the classroom and was an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society at THS.

Myers joins earlier signees Hope Lambrecht (Wood River, Neb./Wood River HS) and Hannah Taylor (Hallam, Neb./Lincoln Christian HS) in the 2014 recruiting class.
