BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team posted a pair of victories Friday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Bruins opened with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23) conference win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University before defeating Briar Cliff University 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 25-18) in nonconference action.

With the two wins, Bellevue improved to 30-7 overall and 10-0 in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Bruins will host 15th-ranked Columbia (Mo.) College tomorrow (Nov. 2) at 11:00 a.m.

Bellevue 3, Oklahoma Wesleyan 0

The Bruins posted their 21st sweep of the season after defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan 25-18, 25-19, 25-23 in the opener.

Meghan Evans paced the Bruins' defense with a match-high 21 digs. She also tallied five set assists and added a service ace.

Beth Walker recorded 31 assists, eight digs and seven kills while Symone Faulkner notched 11 kills on .450 hitting.

BU hit .283 with four service aces and held OWU to just .147 hitting.

The Bruins improved to 33-3 all-time against OWU.

The Eagles (20-9, 5-5 MCAC) were led by Daniela Pena's 10 kills and 10 digs.

Bellevue 3, Briar Cliff 1

Bellevue hit .327 with seven service aces as they defeated Briar Cliff, 3-1.

Caitlyn Rueth led BU with 14 kills and 16 digs and Annie Benson also notched a double-double with 15 digs and 11 kills.

Sydney DeBoer and Faulkner both tallied 12 kills while LaJaida Even pounded a career-high 10 kills on .444 hitting. DeBoer also registered five blocks.

Walker finished with 57 assists, 13 digs and seven kills for her team-high 15th double-double of the season. She also added four blocks and a pair of service aces.

Evans anchored the defense with a match-high 24 digs.

Kirstine Linebaugh chipped in nine digs and three aces.

The Chargers were held to a hitting percentage of .192.

Monica Boeding led BCU with 14 kills and seven digs. The Chargers dropped to 18-14 with the loss.
