GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team dropped its final two matches at the Georgetown Boneyard Brawl Saturday at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium. The Bruins finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.

Bellevue (26-7) opened the day with a 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23 setback to No. 23 Davenport University before falling 25-17, 25-18, 17-25, 25-19 to host Georgetown (Ky.) College in the finale.

The Bruins will return to conference action on Oct. 29 with matches scheduled against Haskell Indian Nations University and York College. Both contests will be played at the Freeman Center in York, Neb.

Davenport 3, Bellevue 1

Davenport outhit the Bruins .192 to .138 and notched 15 total blocks as they posted the 3-1 win over BU.

Annie Benson pounded a match-high 17 kills to go along with 12 digs and a pair of blocks. Symone Faulkner recorded a career-high seven blocks and also finished with 10 kills.

Sydney DeBoer and Caitlyn Rueth both registered 11 kills. Rueth added 16 digs and three blocks while DeBoer notched four blocks.

Beth Walker recorded 46 set assists, 10 digs and four kills.

Meghan Evans led the defense with 20 digs. She also chipped in four assists and three service aces.

BU finished with a season-high 11.5 blocks.

The Panthers improved to 26-9 and were led by Amber Getty who recorded 39 assists, 10 digs, seven kills and one block.

Georgetown 3, Bellevue 1

Georgetown hit .308 and tallied seven blocks as they defeated the Bruins 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 17-25, 25-19) in the final match of the tournament.

Faulkner led the Bruins with 12 kills while LaJaida Even recorded a career-high nine kills. Benson added nine kills and 11 digs.

Walker tallied 37 assists, four digs, three kills and two blocks.

Evans notched a match-high 19 digs with four assists.

BU hit just .193 with five service errors.

The Tigers (26-8) were paced by Caraline Maher's 12 kills and five digs.
