GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The 13th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team posted its 18th sweep of the season after defeating Point Park University 3-0 (28-26, 25-17, 25-22) Friday afternoon in its first match of the Georgetown (Ky.) Boneyard Brawl at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium.

The Bruins (25-5) will play No. 10 Embry Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) University tonight at 7:00 p.m. (EST).

Beth Walker registered 35 assists, 11 digs, five kills and three blocks. This marks her team-high 12th double-double of the season.

Caitlyn Rueth recorded a match-high 14 kills while Annie Benson tallied 10 kills and 10 digs for her 11th double-double of the season. Symone Faulkner added nine kills and three blocks.

Meghan Evans led the defense with a season-high 25 digs. She also chipped in three set assists.

The Bruins dropped the first five points and trailed by as many as seven (12-5) in the opening set before BU used a 19-9 spurt to take a 24-21 advantage. The Pioneers responded by scoring the next four points to take a 25-24 lead. Following a BU timeout, the Bruins scored four of the final five points to pull out the 28-26 win.

With the second game tied at 10-10, the Bruins closed the set on a 15-7 run to win, 25-17. BU hit .346 and were paced by Benson (4), Faulkner (4) and Rueth (3) who combined for 11 of the Bruins' 13 kills.

The third stanza featured nine ties and three lead changes. Trailing 21-17, the Bruins ended the match on an 8-1 run capped off by a Jacey Wiggins service ace to complete the sweep, 25-22.

BU outhit PPU .168 to .026 and also held a 58-41 edge in digs.

Roxanne Grundmeier led the Pioneers (18-16) with a seven kills and six digs.
