OMAHA, Neb. -- The 21st-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept in-state rival College of Saint Mary 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-20) in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday night at the Lied Center.

Bellevue has won nine of its last 10 matches and improved to 26-6 overall and 9-1 in the MCAC while College of Saint Mary fell to 9-23 and 4-5 in league play. The win also marked the Bruins' 13th-straight win over the Flames and sixth consecutive win in straight sets.

Maureen Wardian pounded 16 kills on .519 hitting while Kali Schnacker added 10 kills and a career-high 15 digs for her first double-double of the season. Jordan Broady registered a match-high 36 assists to go along with seven digs while directing the BU offense to a .373 hitting percentage.

Ashley Wurdeman notched nine kills while libero Meghan Evans chipped in 10 digs.

The opening set featured 10 ties and three lead changes, with neither team able to go up by more than five points. With the set tied at 19-all, the Bruins scored the final six points, to pull out a 25-19 win fueled by three CSM attacking errors and back-to-back blocks by Courtney Hendricks and Wardian in the decisive run. 

The Bruins hit .480 with 15 kills and capitalized on seven hitting errors by CSM en route to a 25-8 second game win. Wardian led the Bruin attack with seven kills on nine swings. The Flames just managed one kill and hit -.300.

BU never trailed in the final set and raced out to a 12-5 lead keyed by seven Bruin kills and three attacking errors by the Flames. CSM fought back and cut its deficit down to two,19-17, but the Flames never got any closer as the Bruins scored six of the final nine points to pull out a 25-20 win.

BU will conclude the regular season on Friday, Nov. 4 with a 7:00 p.m. conference match against Haskell Indian Nations University at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Following the match, the three Bruin seniors (Wardian, Wurdeman, and Schnacker) will be honored.
