BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team won its 13th-straight match, sweeping College of Saint Mary 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-21) in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

Bellevue is now 17-4 overall and 6-0 in league play while CSM fell to 6-16 and 2-2 in the MCAC. The win also marked the Bruins' 12th-straight win over the Flames and fifth consecutive win in straight sets.

Maureen Wardian (12) and Sunny Bell (11) both recorded double-digit kills while Jordan Broady collected 42 assists and directed the Bruin offense to a .279 hitting percentage. Meghan Evans anchored BU's defense that held CSM to .100 hitting and registered a match-high 20 digs.

With the Flames holding a slight one-point lead midway through the opening set, 13-12, the Bruins finished on a 13-4 run capped off by a kill from Bell to win, 25-17. Kali Schnacker, Annie Benson, Wardian and Bell each tallied four kills apiece to lead the Bruin offense. BU hit .359 and held CSM to a .158 hitting percentage.

BU scored six of the first seven points and never trailed en route to a 25-12 win in the second game. Niki Gregory recorded three service aces and the Bruins capitalized on seven attacking errors by the Flames.

The final set featured four ties and three lead changes. With BU holding onto a 22-21 lead, the Bruins scored the final three points, capped off by kill by Caitlyn Rueth. Wardian led the Bruin attack with seven kills.

The Bruins will travel to Point Lookout, Mo. on Friday, Oct. 7 for MCAC matches against College of the Ozarks and Central Baptist College.
